Obi Kabut (drains into the upper Yarkitch from the Yarkitch’s river right)
Scouted but not paddled: September, 2007
Volume: 250 cfs
The lower 5km of the Obi Kabut is really a non-starter for whitewater. The river is shallow and rocky, and chock full of wood. There are two drops of significance. Both are complicated, and slightly painful looking falls of about 10 feet. To top it off, access from downstream is tough going. There is no path, and riverbanks are steep and crumbly.
Recs: Better avoided, unless you´re into some serious pain…
Pleasure: Pain 1:10
