Kshtut:
Scouted but not paddled: Aug 24, 2007
Volume: less than 100cfs at the town of Zimtut
Scouting of the Kshtut revealed that most of the gradient is 3/4km upstream of Zimtut continuing through Zimtut and a couple kilometers below. Above this to the confluence of the two major tributaries, the river is mostly flat with some rockslide rapids. The river is very steep and should be thoroughly scouted for strainers. The whitewater around Zimtut is steep small drops that bounce around boulders. Downstream the river and road separate and the nature of the whitewater is unknown, but expected to be shallow, rocky landslide rapids.
